Week Twelve

Hello All,

My Favorite Bit of Information From The Week:

Photography For Mental Health
Introduction: There is a group called The One Project that I discovered this week, and subsequently joined. It was started (and is still solo run) by a man named Bryce Evans. He discovered Photography as a means to help his own depression. After he discovered how helpful and healing it was to him, he began a website where people could post photos and write captions relating to their mental health. Talking about mental health can be challenging, posting a photo is a much easier and more accessible language for many people. Your posts are anonymous, the community is invite only, and you get to control how often/ how much or little you participate. This is truly special, if you have time to explore the site I recommend it.

My first post on The One Project:  Here is the entirety of the caption: ” This block of ice has been slowly melting at the lake down my street. Watching it slowly melt and create new shapes as it gets warmer reminds me that everything changes. This helps me”.

Favorite quote from the article above:
““Sharing true feelings in a therapeutic setting can be challenging for any person though. The beauty of working with photography is that you can also use it as a form of self-healing and take it outside of the therapy room. An individual spending time out in nature, being with their thoughts and feelings, can help capture photographs to express their present emotions.”

Update on my Show:

This past week, I have been preparing to apply for new grants and looking into other forms of fundraising!
Also, I have been merrily working away on the new edits of the script. Very excited for this newest draft!

Thank You: Thank you VERY much to all who have donated thus far, making this project possible.

Ways to Support: If you would like to donate to my show, share this project with a friend, or find out more about it please check out my gofundme here: https://www.gofundme.com/one-woman-hamlet

New Resources From Last Week:

I try and add a resource that offers you a link to tangible practical help on the topic each week. I feel that The One Project offers that in and of itself- so I offer you the link again and encourage you to check it out if you feel so inclined. There is not cost, unless you wish to donate, and no obligation to continue after trying it out:
